Jazzon VI brings forth the live recording of a unique final concert for the sixth Jazzon composition award, which was held in Novo mesto, Slovenia, during the international Jazzinty music workshop and festival in August 2008. It is a selection of the best of best, it shows what has really been happening in the field of Slovene jazz composition. Seven composers, seven compositions, two of them awarded by an international jury, one of them by the concert audience; on the top of this also the new take of last year's winning composition Three for Blue by Tine Grgurević. A really great international ensemble, led by the young – NYC based – Slovene drummer Gašper Bertoncelj, has more then succeeded in merging a classical quintet sound with the magical sonority of cello.
