In the past waters around the city were the spine of everyday life that was surrounding them and presented the most important vital strenght and main creativeness of towns. The important role that river had for a town in the past is undoubtful; as water and food resource, as a mean of connecting with the world and defending from him at the same time the river had the dominating position.
Social and economic developement has met the river trough the history, the usage and the exploitation of the river have imprinted their traces in its heart and today the river is often debased as merely terminal reservoir of society sewage, neglected and degradated into an obstacle which stands in the way of modern transport and needs to be surmounted.
