»He could erase all traces, that is true, but I do not think he had enough time. He did not manage to do one thing – he id not pick up the quiver, he probably did not remember. You know, cold-blooded murderers are very rare. People do not usually make mistakes before a crime, they get caught because they do a mistake after the crime. Even the professional murderers sometimes do mistakes. A murder is not just just an act of pulling the trigger, it also has an effect on the human. Have you ever killed a man?«

The thing, that is repressed is the most essential for him, becaus it actuates double string of effects, one in the present and the second and the origin one in the repressed past, in the »white spot« of the memory. Just like the Oydipus, who is constantly and just because of his own wish for (self)cognition discovering the traumatic truth of his own »origin« crime and division, also the hero in this novel finds a new layer of reality by every fact, that he discovers, but it would be better, if he did not know for those facts. But still he wants to know them at any price and still he wants to see them, even for the price of blindness.
