The publishing house

Goga Publishing, established in 1998, focused primarily on literary fiction. Upholding the highest editorial standards, Goga has maintained the reputation of a trustworthy publisher with authors and readers alike. Goga’s program consists mostly of contemporary novels (both Slovene and in translation), but also includes poetry, short prose, and essays. Among Goga’s authors are many of Slovenia’s most esteemed, awarded, and translated writers.

 

International cooperation

Eager to expand and develop a strong international presence, Goga hasrecently  been either the leader of or a partner in several European projects, including Reading Balkans (networking and mobility in the Balkans) and Cela (talent development for emerging authors).

Goga maintains a broad network of international partners, including publishers, translators, authors, editors, writers’ residencies, and other cultural organizations, always interested in forming new partnerships for international cooperation, possibly withing the framework of individual projects. Bookstore, writers’ residence and other projects

In addition, Goga owns a bookshop (since 2000, with an outdoor terrace on the Central Square since 2012), runs a literary residence (since 2008), organizes literary events, cultural festivals, and presents the  Novo Mesto award for the best collection of short stories, the only of its kind in Slovenia.
