Maja Gal Štromar
Maja Gal Štromar, 1969, actor, poet, writer and translator, theatre educator, screenwriter, show host, professor of rhetoric. She studied Romance languages – Italian and French – in the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. She left Ljubljana for Paris, where she completed the theatre course at L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq. As a theatre actress she was regularly employed in SNG Celje and SNG Maribor, and she also worked for countless other theatres and completed several author projects in Slovenia and abroad. So far she has published ten literary works – short fiction, novels, a dramatized fairy tale, and a dramatic text for a monodrama “Alma Ajka” which was published in Slovene and Arabic language, the latter by the Library of Alexandria in Egypt. She writer radio plays for adults and children, dramatic texts for children’s shows, and has many books ready for publishing. Though from Koper originally, she lives in Ljubljana and works as a free-lance artist. As a theatre educator she runs workshops in Slovenia and occasionally abroad.
