Turn the Game Around, or a Poetic Self-Help Book

Monika Vrečar’s poetic self-help guide turns the rules of the game upside down. It challenges patriarchy, science, medicine, capitalism, our understanding of freedom, and the boundaries between the objective and the subjective. It turns poetry itself on its head.

About the Book

Monika Vrečar is an established Slovenian poet and writer whose academic work focuses on media and art theory. The essays collected in Turn the Game Around explore a wide range of topics, including artificial intelligence, feminism, critiques of capitalism, the environmental crisis, medicine, and alternative medicine. What unites them all is the unmistakable thread of the author’s personal experiences, which give the theoretical and scientific framework its true power of expression.
